Jiddu Krishnamurti is considered as one of the Greatest Indian Philosopher of international repute. He has given a new meaning to attainment of salvation.

J. Krishnamurti was born in 1895 in Madras into a Telugu Brahmin family. At the age of eleven, Annie Besant picked up and groomed him to become a world teacher. He remained a bachelor throughout his life. He believed that organised religion was irreligion and organised morality was immorality. His belief was that authority and discipline imposed by any system could never find the truth. He brought his faith to the level of common man to benefit from it.

In the beginning, he was associated with the Theosophical Society but broke off from it in 1929 to seek full freedom of thought and action. He advocated mental deconditioning, which ultimately led to self-discovery. At the age of 34, he declared that life wets a pathless j land and one has to find it for himself. His ! lesson was “you are the world and the world is I you”. His concept of Gurus and followers was ' unreal. By that time his name had spread as a philosopher and spiritual master throughout 1 the world. He was also a writer and has written I many books. His book ‘Song of life’ contains his philosophical thoughts on life. This famous book is The Treasure of New Philosophies. At the age of 91 he passed away in California in 1986.
